PM Modi also inaugurated Dabhoi-Chanchod gauge conversion, Chanodod-Kevadia gauge conversion through electrification of newly constructed Pratapnagar-Kevadia section and new buildings of Dabhoi, Chanodod and Kevadia stations through video conferencing.
Prime Minister remembered MG Ramachandran
Prime Minister Modi remembered and paid tribute to the late former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MG Ramachandran on his birth anniversary. He said that we are trying to fulfill the ideals of MGR. He said that today one of the trains leaving for Kevadia is also coming from Puraschi Talavar Dr. MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station. The PMO said in the statement that these railway stations have been equipped with local features and modern passenger amenities. Kevadia is the first station in the country to have a certificate of being a green building.
Train departs from these places
These eight trains will connect Kevadia to Varanasi, Dadar, Ahmedabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Rewa, Chennai and Pratapnagar. With this plan, the world’s largest statue Statue of Unity will also find a place on the map of Indian Railways. Also, by connecting Kevadia with the rail link, tourists will be able to reach here from all over the country without any trouble.

With the running of this train, people from other cities of North India including Delhi-NCR will be able to visit the Statue of Unity. Till now there was no direct train, people had to go by road after Vadodara. Officials said that as of now it will also run as a special train like other trains.
